Ava Jaxo was a female Human Sergeant within the ranks of the Republic Army. She was affiliated with the commander commanding Havoc Squad during both the Cold War and the Galactic War.
Around 3643 BBY, Ava Jaxo held the rank of Sergeant within the Republic Special Forces. While stationed on Coruscant, she engaged in covert operations for General Elin Garza, operating from an apartment located in Black Sun territory. She aided the new Havoc commander in combating the Black Sun criminal organization and again during the commander's attempt to rescue Senator Zorin Krasul after he was kidnapped.
Later in the conflict, Jaxo found herself imprisoned by the Empire on A-77, a remote asteroid prison colony. Arkos Rakton permitted Jaxo to escape her confinement and establish communication with Republic Special Forces as part of a scheme to draw the commander to the asteroid prison. The commander was dispatched to the prison with the mission of rescuing Jaxo and 314 other prisoners of war detained there. As the commander ventured deep into the prison, Rakton initiated a bombardment of the asteroid, confronting the commander with a difficult choice: either save the prisoners from the bombardment by venting the service level where Jaxo was located, or prioritize Jaxo's life at the expense of the other prisoners. Jaxo implored the commander to prioritize her survival and sacrifice the other prisoners, but the commander chose to save the prisoners, resulting in Ava's death.
Jaxo is featured in the Star Wars: The Old Republic missions "The Black Sun's Poison," "Public Relations," "A Little R and R," "Catching Up," and "Objective: A-77," and presents a potential romantic option for a male character.
The player's decision determines Jaxo's ultimate fate: she can either be left to perish so that other prisoners can escape, or she can be rescued, leading to the prisoners' deaths in the bombardment. Regardless of the choice, she vanishes from the game. If the commander chooses to save Jaxo, the player will subsequently receive a letter from her. In the letter, Jaxo expresses her overwhelming guilt regarding her request to the commander and reveals that she has requested a psychological discharge from the Republic Army. She concludes by urging the commander to "stay strong." There are no further appearances of Jaxo in the game, and the letter marks the final interaction with her in the Trooper storyline.
