The Bakura sector's initial mention occurred within various Star Wars Legends literary works, notably Karen Traviss's Republic Commando: Triple Zero published in 2006, and The Essential Atlas Online Companion. Subsequently, it was featured in the non-canon LEGO Star Wars: The Resistance Rises episode entitled "Poe to the Rescue," which premiered on February 15, 2016.
Poe Dameron received information from C-3PO indicating that Admiral Ackbar of the Resistance was being held captive on a First Order Resurgent-class Star Destroyer situated in the Bakura sector. The Resistance forces successfully executed a rescue operation, liberating Ackbar from his imprisonment by utilizing a hijacked AAL-1971/9.1 Troop Transport.
