Bala-balas, diminutive speeders, were employed on Akiva, a planet situated within the Outer Rim Territories. Both the inhabitants of Akiva and the stationed Imperials utilized these vehicles. They provided a means of transportation through the tight alleyways and waterways of Myrra, Akiva's capital city.
The novel _Aftermath _, the initial entry in Star Wars: The Aftermath Trilogy by Chuck Wendig, which was released in 2015, featured Bala-bala speeders. Furthermore, Bala-balas were visually represented in Star Wars Outlaws, a video game from 2024 created by Massive Entertainment and brought to market by Ubisoft. Although the player cannot operate the speeder, it is often driven by NPCs.
