The Balmorran Arms Factory, a facility dedicated to weapons production, was under the ownership of Balmorran Arms until the Sith Empire launched its invasion of the world of Balmorra during the Great Galactic War. In contrast to the rest of Balmorra however, the factory remained unconquered, transforming into a stronghold for the Balmorran resistance. Furthermore, it served as a landing zone for Republic forces arriving to support the resistance fighters. In 3643 BBY, Darth Lachris, the newly appointed governor of Balmorra, contracted an Imperial pilot to penetrate the factory's defenses, overcome Grand Marshal Cheketta, and secure the facility for the Empire.
