A Banta Four spacecraft
The Banta Four was a starship utilized by the Knights of the Sith, characterized by its silver exterior and designed to accommodate a single pilot alongside at least one passenger. Functioning as a starfighter, this vessel featured a compact cockpit and substantial engines that had a tendency to stir up dust during the engine start-up phase. It also incorporated a side-mounted hatch and the capacity for remote power management.
The journey of a Banta Four took it to the Fourth Moon of Utapau, where it traversed the planet's atmospheric boundary. Annikin Starkiller, the eldest member of the Starkiller family—Jedi-Bendu exiles concealing themselves from the Knights of the Sith—observed its descent while conducting a patrol. He subsequently alerted his father, Kane Starkiller, and his younger sibling, Deak Starkiller, to the arrival. Upon learning that only one ship had arrived, Kane deduced that they would not need to repair their own means of transportation.
Following Kane's elimination of a Sith, he and Annikin, his surviving son, commandeered the fallen Sith's Banta Four and journeyed to the Aquilaean system.
Within the series of nomenclature alterations that were implemented in the first draft, the Banta Fours received a new designation, becoming known as "Cao" Fours.
By adding an "h," the Banta Four evolved into the Bantha, which is a completely different form of transportation. The Banthas made their initial appearance (as creatures) with a brief mention in the second draft.
Furthermore, "Banta" was assigned as the identifier for a Rebel squadron that launched an assault on the Death Star in the second draft.
