Basteel, a planet characterized by its mountainous terrain and frigid climate, resided within the Corva sector. The surface was predominantly uneven, with minimal vegetation. The people who lived there made their homes in underground cities, with Eladro City serving as its capital.
Basteel was seen as relatively insignificant, resulting in only a symbolic Empire presence. During Operation Yellow Moon, Leia Organa and her group journeyed to this planet to install a beacon and connect with Bon Yoth. A few hours following their departure, the Star Destroyer Shieldmaiden appeared, dispatching soldiers into the city with orders to detain the local populace.
The 2018 reference book titled Star Wars: The Rebel Files contains a misspelling of Basteel as "Bastille" on page 153.
