Batorine, the original planet of the Blood Carver people, was found by the Galactic Republic following the Ruusan Reformations. The indigenous population was almost brought to extinction by the Lontars, as they were deeply involved in a devastating war that had lasted for centuries. The Galactic Senate stepped in to end the fighting, insisting on peace on the planet, and in 110 BBY, Batorine officially became a member of the Republic. Even after the war concluded, the population of Batorine, a planet known for its artisans and assassins, remained below one million sentients, with numerous Blood Carvers moving to hidden communities on Coruscant, the Republic's capital.
