The clash known as the Battle of Aereen occurred between the forces of the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems amidst the broader conflict of the Clone Wars.
In the early stages of the Clone Wars, the Trade Federation established a mining operation on the resource-rich moon of Aereen. This colony was intended to provide materials for the Decimators factories located on Krant.
On Aereen, the Trade Federation had constructed a fortified base and initiated the production of an army. Echuu Shen-Jon, accompanied by Nat Reath, arrived with a strike team and commenced their assault, battling through defensive turrets and Trade Federation troops. Ultimately, the Republic forces successfully reached the central base, obliterating it along with the resident Neimoidian leader, Plure Barron.
Following the destruction of the Trade Federation installation, General Echuu Shen-Jon oversaw the establishment of a Republic base on the moon. This new base was intended to serve as a staging point for the impending assault on Krant.
