Battle of Alakatha
The Battle of Alakatha represents a minor conflict that transpired between Rogue Squadron and the pirate group known as the Invid.
Initial Events
New Republic Intelligence had obtained intelligence indicating that Invid pirates, under the leadership of the former Moff Leonia Tavira, were planning a raid on the planet Alakatha. To thwart this attack, the MC80 Star Cruiser called Home One, along with a pair of Victory-class Star Destroyers, were deployed to the system. Prior to their arrival, Rogue Squadron was dispatched to Alakatha, concealing themselves within an asteroid belt.
The Actual Combat
In contrast to the expected large-scale assault, a single bulk cruiser accompanied by eighteen uglies starfighters entered the system and began attacking a luxury liner named the Glitterstar. Colonel Tycho Celchu gave the order for Rogue Squadron to engage the pirates immediately, without waiting for reinforcements. Due to the advantage of surprise and their superior combat abilities, the New Republic pilots swiftly eliminated all enemy fighters and compelled the cruiser to surrender.
Resulting Situation
By the time the New Republic fleet arrived in the system, the battle had already concluded, and all pirates had been neutralized. Questions arose concerning the accuracy of the intelligence gathered regarding the Invid attacks.
