Vurrulf

Vurrulf was a pilot of starfighters, specifically a Klatooinian, who flew with the Rogue Squadron, an elite unit of the New Republic. As a member of Three Flight within the squadron's structure, Vurrulf participated in the hunt for the Invid pirates during 11 ABY. Acting on information from New Republic Intelligence, Rogue Squadron set a trap for a group of Invid ugly starfighters that were planning to attack a luxury liner close to the moon of Alakatha, waiting in-system to ambush them. Vurrulf emerged from the battle unharmed, and the Rogues, having achieved victory, returned to Coruscant, the capital world of the New Republic.

Biography

In 11 ABY, Vurrulf, a starfighter pilot and Klatooinian, served with the New Republic's Rogue Squadron. This squadron consisted of twelve X-wing fighter pilots under the command of New Republic Starfighter Command. Within the squadron, Vurrulf was a part of Three Flight, where he flew alongside his wingmate Ghufran, as well as Ooryl Qrygg, known as Rogue Ten; and Captain Corran Horn, known as Rogue Nine, who was the leader of the flight group. The overall commander of the Rogues was Colonel Tycho Celchu, also known as Rogue Leader. Rogue Squadron was tasked with the hunt for the Invids, a group of pirates who had managed to evade capture by the New Republic in 11 ABY, resulting in approximately a week of time off between raids for the Rogues. Following a tip received by New Republic Intelligence about an impending attack by the Invids on the luxury liner Glitterstar near the moon of Alakatha, the Rogues were transported aboard the MC80 Star Cruiser Home One Home One to a point very close to Alakatha's star system. Utilizing micro-jumps, they entered the system and concealed their X-wings on several large asteroids in the vicinity of the moon. When the modified bulk cruiser Booty Full arrived, deploying numerous ugly starfighters to assault the Glitterstar, Rogue Squadron intercepted and engaged them. Horn instructed Three Flight to carefully select their targets, and after the ranks of the enemy had been significantly reduced, Vurrulf provided cover for Horn as the captain pursued and destroyed an ugly tri-fighter.

The Booty Full quickly surrendered, and with the uglies defeated, Home One and two New Republic Victory-class Star Destroyers came into the system to retrieve the Rogues and the captured bulk cruiser. Onboard Home One during their journey back to Coruscant, the New Republic's capital planet, Vurrulf and the Rogues underwent a debriefing. Upon arrival, they landed their X-wings in a hangar. Shortly thereafter, Corran Horn, Vurrulf's flight leader, departed from the squadron to begin training as a Jedi under Master Luke Skywalker's New Jedi Order.

Personality and traits

As a member of Rogue Squadron, Vurrulf was part of an elite group of pilots considered to be the best within the entire New Republic Defense Force. During at least one encounter with the Invid pirates, the Klatooinian managed to survive, emerging from the battle without injury.
