The final conflict between the forces of Imperial Moff Kentor Sarne and the crew of the FarStar, was the Battle of Kathol System, also referred to as the Battle of Kathol.
Initially, the crew of the FarStar faced a challenging situation, being outnumbered by a ratio of two-to-one. They were up against a Victory-class Star Destroyer and an Immobilizer 418 cruiser. Just as it seemed the Imperials were about to obliterate the FarStar, the Bothan Combat Response Element, commanded by Kursk Mal'ia and their flagship, the Boash'ua, arrived and joined the fray.
The tide of the battle shifted in favor of the New Republic, but this was short-lived as Imperial reinforcements, including the Star Destroyer Titania, entered the battle. The Titania, however, was caught off guard by the Bothan's aggressive response and sustained significant damage from a concentrated assault. Despite its failing systems, the Titania's weapons continued to fire, harassing the Republic ships until the Star Destroyers Raptor and Bastion arrived.
Unexpectedly, the Republic's forces received additional support from ships belonging to the Qektoth Confederacy, who sought to seize the DarkStryder technology for themselves.
The battle concluded with the destruction of the FarStar. After the crew evacuated, the vessel crashed onto the surface of Kathol and detonated, obliterating the Imperial garrison and eliminating Sarne's ground troops.
The surviving members of the FarStar's crew then embarked on a mission to find and eliminate Sarne, as well as uncover the secrets of DarkStryder. With the destruction of DarkStryder and the collapse of Sarne's command, the Imperial Navy forces dispersed, leaving Kathol under the control of the New Republic.
