Bay 5 was a hangar located inside the Imperial I-class Star Destroyer Sovereign belonging to the Galactic Empire. It contained several TIE fighters along with the Grand Inquisitor's TIE Advanced. In 4 BBY, the rebel group known as the Spectres landed their stolen TIE fighter inside the bay and set off an electromagnetic pulse, which crippled the Sovereign. The Star Destroyer was ultimately destroyed after its power core sustained further damage.
The animated television show Star Wars Rebels featured Bay 5 for the first time in "Fire Across the Galaxy," which was the fifteenth and last episode of the first season. This episode was initially broadcast on March 2, 2015.
