The Inquisitor's TIE Advanced, a unique TIE Advanced v1 prototype TIE fighter, was personally given to the Grand Inquisitor as he carried out his assignment to hunt down Jedi for the Galactic Empire.
This particular TIE Advanced model included a cockpit entry hatch, targeting systems, and solar collectors. Its distinctive folding wings allowed for a greater velocity than the standard 1,200 kph of a typical TIE fighter. It was armed with a pair of laser cannons and could hold up to 20 missile projectiles. In contrast to the mass-produced v1 version, the Inquisitor's customized craft also featured life support within the cockpit, removing the need for a flight suit during operation. Unlike most TIE models, the v1 had a hyperdrive and basic shields.

During the Empire Day celebration on Lothal, which occurred five years prior to the Battle of Yavin, the Inquisitor employed it in pursuit of the Jedi Padawan Kanan Jarrus and the Spectres after a "terrorist attack" in Capital City. Subsequently, after the Inquisitor's death aboard the Sovereign, Jarrus and Ezra Bridger commandeered the ship to escape the exploding Star Destroyer and rendezvous with their own transport.
According to General Antoc Merrick, Capin Harinar and his team greatly enjoyed their time disassembling the ship after the events at Mustafar.
In 2014, Hasbro released a toy version of the Inquisitor's TIE advanced prototype as a part of their Saga legends/Rebels product line. Two versions exist, one with green missiles and another with red ones.
Star Wars Rebels: Head to Head specifies the length of a TIE Advanced v1 as 3.57 meters, whereas Star Wars Rebels: Beware the Inquisitor! claims the Inquisitor's TIE is 9.2 meters long. This article assumes the former source is correct.
