The Galactic Empire employed a unique type of behavioral collar. These collars were placed on lurca hounds that the Empire controlled. A droid could remotely operate the collar to manipulate the hounds' actions and movements. In 18 BBY, a pack of lurca hounds on the planet Wayland were fitted with these collars, which were managed by the droid known as K-9X1. After the clone Omega tamed the hound Batcher, Batcher was slated for elimination. Omega intervened to rescue Batcher by breaking the collar's hold on her and setting her free into the wilderness.
The behavioral collars made their initial appearance in the Star Wars: The Bad Batch episode "Confined," the opening episode of the third season, which debuted on February 21, 2024.
