The Black Sun ruling council, a group of Falleen nobles, held power over the Black Sun criminal organization during the era of the Clone Wars. Their base of operations was a fortress situated on the planet of Mustafar. Xomit Grunseit was their leader, but the crime lords met their death at the hands of Savage Opress in 19 BBY when they chose not to join Maul's Shadow Collective. Following this, Maul appointed their lieutenant, the Captain of the Guard named Ziton Moj, to take command of Black Sun.
The concept of the Black Sun ruling council was initially conceived for "Eminence," the fourteenth episode from Star Wars: The Clone Wars' fifth season, an animated TV show. Its initial broadcast was on January 19, 2013.
