Blenjeel

Blenjeel, a planet of desert landscapes, was situated in a remote region of space between Ando and Kothlis, far removed from the major hyperlanes. This world was home to colossal sand burrowers, creatures that would rapidly burst from beneath the surface to consume any unsuspecting creatures. The geography of Blenjeel consisted mainly of expansive deserts, distinguished by the peculiar nature of its sands, which were in constant flux. Rock formations that appeared stable on one day might disappear into the shifting sands the next. These movements were largely attributed to the activity of the sand burrowers.

A merchant vessel suffered an attack by an Imperial Immobilizer 418 cruiser a decade following the Battle of Endor, resulting in a crash landing on Blenjeel. Subsequently, Jaden Korr, a Jedi Initiate, was sent to conduct an investigation. However, his shuttle experienced a lightning strike during its descent and also crash-landed. While he could not rescue the merchants—the last of whom met his end by a sandworm shortly after Jaden's arrival—he successfully evaded the indigenous sandworms long enough to recover the necessary components from the merchant's ship to repair his own shuttle. Soon after these events, Blenjeel was officially designated in the New Republic Galactic Database as a hazardous planet to be avoided.

Behind the scenes

The fundamental idea of Blenjeel mirrors the environment found on Arrakis, the Dune planet, which is also a desert world populated by massive sandworms.
