Borgo Prime

Borgo Prime, alternatively called Starport Borgo or Port Borgo, was a shadowport situated on an asteroid within the Outer Rim Territories of the galaxy. This asteroid base, positioned along the Hydian Way, was noted on a map by the former pirate Queen Maz Kanata in the book that would eventually be published as the Smuggler's Guide.

Circa 9 ABY, the Shistavanen pirate Brutus and their crew held dominion over this shadowport. It was at this time that KB, Wim, Neel, and [Fern]((/article/fern)—a group of children—arrived at the asteroid aboard the Onyx Cinder after an unintentional departure from their homeworld, At Attin.

Behind the scenes

Starport Borgo

Within established canon, the first mention of Borgo Prime occurred in the 2018 reference work Star Wars: Smuggler's Guide, authored by Daniel Wallace. However, the location's origin is found in the Star Wars Legends continuity, initially appearing as a spaceport constructed inside an asteroid featured in the 1995 novel Young Jedi Knights: Shadow Academy, a collaborative effort by Kevin J. Anderson and Rebecca Moesta.

For the live-action portrayal of Port Borgo in Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, sound designer David W. Collins integrated a tribute to the Pirates of the Caribbean film series, inspired by the location of Tortuga.
