The northernmost area of the galaxy was known as the New Territories. It was adjacent to the Unknown Regions on its western edge, the Interior to the south, and the Slice on its eastern side. A portion of the Confederacy of Independent Systems's domain extended from the New Territories all the way to Hutt Space during the time of the Clone Wars.
The 2009 Legends reference book, The Essential Atlas, conceived the New Territories region. Jason Fry and Daniel Wallace were the writers of this book.
