Cadinth, a celestial body, resided within the Tion Cluster, a region of space found in both the Outer Rim Territories and the Slice. Its position on the Standard Galactic Grid was designated as grid square S-6. Furthermore, Cadinth lay along the Shaltin Tunnels hyperspace route, a path that linked it with the celestial locations of Lianna and Jaminere.
The initial mention of Cadinth within the new Star Wars canon occurred on a galactic map featured in Star Wars: The Force Awakens Beginner Game. This boxed set, released in 2016, was part of Fantasy Flight Games' Star Wars Roleplaying product line. Within the Star Wars Legends continuity, the planet known as Cadinth was first presented in Mission to Lianna. This 1992 supplement, written by Joanne E. Wyrick, was designed for use with Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game, published by West End Games. Subsequently, it appeared in "The Battle of Cadinth," a short story penned by Bill Smith and included in the second issue of Star Wars Galaxy Magazine, a series from The Topps Company, Inc. that was released in January of 1995.
