Caluula Station, a space station, was famous as a sanctuary for spacers requiring replacement components and also for environmental researchers studying the planet in its orbit.
Caluula Station was nominally controlled by the New Republic military; however, it suffered a significant Yuuzhan Vong assault following the calamitous Operation Trinity. The station could not summon New Republic support because the adjacent HoloNet relay stations had been decimated by the mabugat kan.
The station attracted increased Yuuzhan Vong interest when Han Solo arrived after his unsuccessful rescue attempt on Selvaris. To lure Solo out, they used a ychna, which resulted in the station's destruction. Commander Garray, who was in command of the station, managed to evacuate the majority of the personnel to the surface of Caluula to prepare defenses against the Yuuzhan Vong invasion before the station was lost.
