A battle transpired on this world, pitting the Confederacy of Independent Systems against the Galactic Republic's military, which incorporated Altadan Igar and was under the command of a Jedi. The Republic's forces emerged victorious, seizing control of the fortress, but the cost in lives was staggering. Subsequently, Igar recounted the incidents that unfolded on Celes IV to Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker on the forest moon of Endor not long before the Battle of Endor during the year 4 ABY.
