Christopher Miller, born on September 23, 1975, is a multifaceted American talent in the world of cinema, serving as a film producer, director, and writer. Notably, he holds the position of executive producer for Solo: A Star Wars Story. Initially, Miller, in collaboration with his industry partner Phil Lord, took on the directorial responsibilities for the movie, but later Ron Howard stepped in to replace them.
During the production phase of The Star Wars Trilogy Special Edition, Miller gained experience as an intern at Lucasfilm Ltd.. Furthermore, he made a cameo appearance as a stormtrooper within the Special Edition version of The Empire Strikes Back.
Regarding the origins of the Cloud-Riders concept in Solo: A Star Wars Story, Jon Kasdan, a writer involved in the film, addressed the question in 2018. The inquiry was whether the idea stemmed from the 1977 Star Wars Legends comic, Star Wars 9: Showdown on a Wasteland World!, or if it was purely coincidental. Kasdan responded on Twitter, confirming that it was not a coincidence. He explained that when Miller and Phil Lord, the former directors, decided on using swoop bikes for the group, Kasdan discovered the Star Wars Legends Cloud-Riders while exploring Wookieepedia, and the name became the chosen one.
