Phil Lord, an American film producer, director, and writer, was born on July 12, 1975. He holds the role of executive producer for Solo: A Star Wars Story. Originally, Lord and his professional partner Christopher Miller were the directors of the movie, but Ron Howard took over their position.
In 2018, a question arose regarding the origin of the Cloud-Riders concept featured in Solo: A Star Wars Story. Was it inspired by the 1977 Star Wars Legends comic, Star Wars 9: Showdown on a Wasteland World!, or was it purely coincidental? Jon Kasdan, one of the film's writers, responded on Twitter. He clarified that it was indeed intentional. When former directors Christopher Miller and Lord decided on using swoop bikes for the group, Kasdan discovered the Star Wars Legends Cloud-Riders while exploring Wookieepedia, and the name became the chosen one.
