Classic Star Wars 16

Classic Star Wars #16, released by Dark Horse Comics, marks the sixteenth installment in the Classic Star Wars comic book series.

This specific Classic series presents the Star Wars daily newspaper strip created by Archie Goodwin and Al Williamson in the early 1980s, which were recolored and adapted into a comic book format. To ensure smooth storytelling for the comic book medium, Williamson contributed additional panels and artwork.

Publisher's synopsis

While Luke guides the Rebel fleet towards their fresh sanctuary on Hoth, the Mon Calamari, the Rebels' recent comrades, devise a strategy to divert the Imperials, facilitating the Rebels' getaway from an Imperial blockade. However, the Imperials swiftly discern that the Mon Calamari's maneuvers are a smokescreen for the actual Rebel departure. Determined to annihilate the Rebels definitively, the Imperials pursue them relentlessly. Simultaneously, Han, Chewbacca, and C-3PO embark on a journey aboard the Millennium Falcon, seeking an alternative pathway to Hoth. Their quest leads them to a route that appears insurmountable, one that would bring them precariously near an immense stellar flare!

Allen Nunis and Al Williamson personally refine Williamson's original illustrations, incorporating supplementary artwork. Steve Buccellato enhances the classic newspaper strip art with perfectly matched colors. The cover, newly colored, is a space scene spectacle by Nunis!
