Classic Star Wars 17

Classic Star Wars issue number 17 represents the seventeenth installment in the Classic Star Wars comic book line, brought to readers by Dark Horse Comics.

This specific run of Classic comics featured recolored and reformatted versions of the Star Wars daily newspaper strip, originally created in the early 1980s by Archie Goodwin and Al Williamson. To adapt the stories for the standard comic book layout, Williamson added newly created artwork and panels to improve the narrative flow.

Publisher synopsis

While fleeing to Hoth to escape Darth Vader's and the Empire's pursuit, the Rebels realize the Millennium Falcon didn't successfully jump to hyperspace. Stranded due to a faulty navigation system, Luke Skywalker and his companions are forced to land on the closest planet – which appears to be a tropical haven – to perform necessary repairs. Shortly after landing, Luke encounters a woman who seems to be Tanith Shire being attacked by a man-eating plant; he uses the Force to extricate himself from the dangerous situation. But why is Tanith Shire alone on this strange, remote planet? The young Rebel is about to uncover the truth behind the tale of "The Paradise Detour."
