During the Imperial Era, the Compliant served as a Star Destroyer within the Imperial Navy. This ship was stationed at the Imperial marshaling station on the planet Pii in 14 BBY, alongside another Star Destroyer named Enforcer. When a rebel cell initiated an attack on an Imperial convoy close to the Gulf of Tatooine, both Star Destroyers received orders to engage. Nevertheless, Moff Wilhuff Tarkin in the Executrix had already secured a victory over the rebels by the time they reached the battle.
The Compliant, a Star Destroyer, was equipped with both engines and a hyperdrive.
The Compliant, a Star Destroyer, found itself stationed at the Imperial marshaling station of the planet Pii, along with another Star Destroyer, the Enforcer, in 14 BBY during the Imperial Era. At this time, a rebel cell under the leadership of Berch Teller launched an attack upon an Imperial convoy located in a star system Coreward of the Gulf of Tatooine. Teller's objective with this attack was to disrupt the advancement of an Imperial battle station, which would later become known as the Death Star, then under construction above the planet Geonosis, which was the convoy's ultimate destination.
In response to the attack, the Compliant and the Enforcer were deployed from Pii to provide assistance in the conflict. However, by the time the two Star Destroyers emerged from hyperspace and arrived in the system, the rebels had already suffered defeat, because Moff Wilhuff Tarkin had arrived beforehand aboard his Executrix, an Imperial-class Star Destroyer, to safeguard the convoy. As the Compliant and Enforcer made their arrival, an Imperial technician present on the Executrix's bridge notified Tarkin of two signatures reverting from hyperspace. Tarkin briefly considered the possibility of a trap, but the technician then clarified that the two signatures belonged to Star Destroyers dispatched from Pii.
The novel Tarkin, penned by James Luceno in 2014, included a mention of the Compliant.
