Conference on Popular Entertainment

In the year 6 ABY, a gathering known as the Conference on Popular Entertainment took place on the planet of Obroa-skai. At this event, Thunys Albegron, an Academician specializing in Popular Studies, delivered a speech. His topic was the Holodrama titled True Tales of the Ancient Republic, with a specific focus on Episode XXIV: Death on the Rim. This episode, which originally aired in 114 BBY, featured the main character Novan Nune, a fictional Sector Ranger. Albegron's analysis explored how the episode drew inspiration from actual historical events, namely the Hutt's support of the assault targeting Parcovey Minor, a planet, and the subsequent journey of the Belasco Free Volunteers to the planet Affavan.

Behind the scenes

Jason Fry initially mentioned this conference in the fifth installment of the Star Wars: The Essential Guide to Warfare Author's Cut series on the StarWars.com blog in 2014. This particular blog post contained material that had been removed from The Essential Guide to Warfare, a book authored by Fry and published in 2012.
