Coruscant Standard Carat

The Coruscant Standard Carat, often abbreviated as CSC, served as a standardized measurement for gemstones.

Although the value of gemstones fluctuated wildly across the galaxy based on both their inherent quality and localized market conditions – with top-tier gems potentially commanding immense wealth, while inferior ones might be worth little more than a cheap meal – the Coruscant Standard Carat (CSC) was the prevailing standard. A single CSC was approximately equivalent to 0.2 grams, with typical gemstones measuring between 0.5 and 3 CSCs in size. Exceptionally large specimens could reach sizes of up to 5 CSCs.
