The subterranean species of Coway who were indigenous to Mimban communicated using the language known as Coway. Despite the cultural disparities between the Coway and their genetic relatives, the Mimbanites, who also resided on the planet, the language of the Coway bore resemblances to the Mimbanite language. Following their capture by the Coway, Halla utilized her knowledge of the Coway language to provide Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, Hin, Kee, and the droids R2-D2 and C-3PO with an opportunity for rescue.
