The Crispin system, which encompassed the Crispin asteroid field, existed within the Wild Space region of the galaxy. Prior to the onset of the Mandalorian Wars, a contingent of Mandalorian Neo-Crusaders, under the command of Canderous Ordo, came across an object resembling a Yuuzhan Vong Yorik-stronha. This object had been concealed within an icy asteroid located in that system. The asteroid belt also provided concealment for various groups of unidentified pirates and smugglers. Canderous indicated that the Mandalorians' presence there involved "playing" with these groups, possibly serving as a form of training or recreational activity.
The true nature of the object discovered by the Mandalorians within the asteroid field remains a subject of discussion. Although its description aligns with that of a Yuuzhan Vong coralcraft, some members of the fanbase contend that the arrival of a Yuuzhan Vong vessel in the galaxy four millennia before the initial scouting parties is improbable, despite the documented presence of the Yuuzhan Vong's slivilith during that era.
