Crucible cant was a special runic language that the old slaving group, the Crucible, employed. Although the members didn't converse using this tongue, they used it to signify the ranks and nicknames that the slave ring's members took on. When a slaver received a new name in this language, the Flames of the Crucible glyphs representing that name were tattooed onto their face and upper arms.
Within this language system, "Chantique" signified "destroyer," "Jarael" was interpreted as "protector," and "Bar'injar" was the term for "Magister Protector". The suffix "-jar" stood for "protector".
