The Crucible

The Crucible represented a vast, age-old organization engaged in slave-trading, established by the Sith Lord known as Ieldis.

Overview

The initial objective of this Sith group was to form permanent military forces using war refugees. Consequently, they adopted a wandering lifestyle, employing Skyreaper drones to abduct individuals and confine them to slave pits. Within these pits, captives were compelled to engage in relentless combat until their mental state deteriorated. This method proved so potent that it could transform even the most pacifistic individuals into ruthless killers.

Members displayed the "Flames of the Crucible" tattoo, a runic script containing concealed meanings within the Crucible's language. The leader of the organization bore the title of Magister Impressor, while another high-ranking position was Magister Protector. Due to the group's extremely violent nature, new members were capable of assassinating their overseers to usurp their positions. This brutal characteristic also meant they lacked healers; any injured Crucible member was simply replaced.

History

Ieldis, a Sith Lord, created the Crucible during the Golden Age of the Sith. Even after the destruction of the Sith Empire, the organization persisted in its operations, despite having lost its original purpose of serving the Sith. Chantique was a confirmed member of the organization, and Jarael was also a member, although she departed sometime before 3964 BBY.

After discovering the organization and Jarael's past involvement, Zayne Carrick, a former Jedi, made the decision to dismantle the Crucible. The star cruiser named Gladiator was among the vessels the organization possessed. Fleet Captain Dace Golliard used the Gladiator to intercept the Hot Prospect in the Koornacht Cluster, where Carrick was attempting to sabotage the Crucible's dealings with the Sungrazer cooperative. Another of their clientele was the Franchise, an entertainment enterprise managed by the Krish, which, by the time the Mandalorian Wars erupted, had become the leading league for dueling sports. Jervo's World, the company's largest facility, was owned by Lhosan Industries. When Chairman Jervo Thalien attempted to end the Franchise's association with the Crucible after Zayne Carrick exposed their slaving activities, Chantique assassinated him. This left the Krish's business dealings with Lhosan Industries in stasis until their next representative could continue the investment.

Ultimately, the Crucible experienced a significant setback. Zayne successfully tricked Golliard into a trap, resulting in his capture by Republic authorities. Shortly afterward, both Bar'injar and Chantique were killed by the Mandalorian named Demagol. Following these events, the Crucible descended into chaos.
