Cy Yunga

During the year of 32 BBY, an alien Podracer pilot known as Cy Yunga was racing. This pilot, Yunga, used a red and white Podracer throughout their career, which included at least one race on Tatooine, a planet located in the Outer Rim. Yunga also raced on the planet Aquilaris, where they were a fan-favorite for the Sunken City course.

Biography

Cy Yunga participated in a Podrace on Tatooine.

Cy Yunga, a Podracer pilot of an alien species, was active in 32 BBY. Yunga, along with "Bullseye" Navior, was a popular choice among spectators for the Sunken City race on the planet Aquilaris.

Yunga participated in a race on the Outer Rim planet Tatooine at some point. Wan Sandage, a Devlikk; Mawhonic, a Gran; Ben Quadinaros, a Toong; and Bozzie Baranta, a Podrace champion, were among Yunga's rivals.

Eventually, one of the engines of Yunga's Podracer ended up in the junkyard of Watto's parts shop on Tatooine, owned by the Toydarian Watto.

Personality and traits

Yunga belonged to an alien species characterized by thin builds, long necks, dark-green scales, slender arms, and short, stubby legs. At the end of Yunga's neck was a single, large green eye.

Equipment

The cockpit of Cy Yunga's Podracer was shaped like a red rocket ship, and it had two slender red and white engines with a comet-like design. While the Podracer was quick and nimble, it was more fragile than some of its larger rivals.

Behind the scenes

Cy Yunga was made for the Star Wars Episode I: Racer video game as a playable character. Yunga was a bonus "cheat code" character that could be unlocked with the codes RRCYYUN or RRTANGENTABACUS in the Nintendo 64 version of the game and through a key combination in the PC version, rather than appearing on the game's main roster. Cy Yunga replaces "Bullseye" Navior entirely upon activation, including Navior's records and status as the track favorite for the Sunken City course. Yunga also uses Navior's sound-bytes, thus Bob Bergen voices Yunga, as he does Navior.

The body of Cy Yunga's in-game model is based on the model of the Glymphid pilot Aldar Beedo, but with a different texture.
