A distinctive injury known as a Czulkang Lah pit was specifically given to Yuuzhan Vong warriors who were pupils of the renowned warmaster of the Yuuzhan Vong, Czulkang Lah. After voicing his opposition to the Yuuzhan Vong War, Czulkang Lah was overthrown as warmaster by his son, and the warrior was demoted to instructing military tactics.
In the veteran warrior's lessons, it became commonplace to punish incorrect answers with a quick strike to the student's body, using Czulkang Lah's uniquely cultivated amphistaff. Lah would often strike students for displays of timidity or fear; those who dared to offer an answer usually fared better than those who remained silent. As a result, warriors with only a small number of Czulkang Lah pits were seen as honorable. However, a warrior with too many was considered incompetent.
Czulkang Lah's lessons were famous, and numerous alumni went on to hold esteemed leadership roles within the Yuuzhan Vong fleet. Supreme Commander Maal Lah carried multiple Czulkang Lah pit scars from his time as a student under the former warmaster.
