Dalla Solo

Dalla Solo, also referred to as Dalla Suul or Dalla the Black, was a Human male of Corellian heritage. He rose to infamy as a pirate during the era of the Clone Wars. While some legends claimed he was the rightful successor to the Corellian throne and the paternal grandfather of Han Solo, the veracity of these assertions remains uncertain.

Biography

Dalla Solo in a camp in the Agrilat Swamp

Born on Duro, Dalla was the offspring of Korol Solo, who proclaimed descent from Berethron e Solo. Korol faced execution due to his claims to the throne. To conceal his true identity, Korol's son adopted the alias Dalla Suul and embarked on a path as a pirate and kidnapper, thereby acquiring the moniker "Dalla the Black." While his daughter, born out of wedlock, became the mother of Threkin Horm, Jonash Solo, Han Solo's father, was allegedly his legitimate firstborn son.

At some point after 0 BBY, Dalla established a small encampment within the isolated Agrilat crystal swamps of Corellia. Upon encountering a spacer there, Solo expressed his search for a new associate. He proposed that if the spacer assisted him with a task, Solo would contemplate revealing his trade secrets. He tasked the spacer with assassinating a Gran named Yensi Kolyin. However, upon the spacer's successful return, Solo reneged on his proposition, stating he required more time for deliberation.

Behind the scenes

In The Courtship of Princess Leia, C-3PO mentions that Dalla's birth occurred "nearly sixty years" prior to 8 ABY. However, for him to be Han Solo's grandfather, with a presumed birth year around 50 BBY, both he and his son would have had to father children during their early teenage years.
