After the Battle of Corbos in 6900 BBY, which marked the end of the Hundred-Year Darkness, the Galactic Republic forced numerous Dark Jedi Exiles onto defenseless galleons. These Exiles were then banished from explored space. Without weapons or star-charts, the Exiles journeyed across the cosmos, guided by the instincts of Sorzus Syn. Ultimately, the Dark Jedi discovered a sector unknown to the Republic, home to the legendary Kingdom of the Sith. At least two of the starships carrying the Exiles arrived on the planet Korriban, where they subjugated the native Sith species.
Later on, a group of Sith Lords, under the leadership of Baron Remulus Dreypa, decided to seek vengeance against the Jedi Order and the Republic, who they saw as weak. To achieve this goal, they studied the navigation computer from the galleon that had transported them to the Sith Worlds, analyzing the hyperspace route it had taken. Driven by their desire for revenge, these Dark Jedi departed from the Sith Empire aboard another ship.
