The Arrival on Korriban, marking the Dark Jedi Exiles' landing on the Sith species' native world of Korriban, ultimately paved the way for the establishment of the Sith Empire.
Following the Battle of Corbos, where the Dark Jedi were defeated, the Jedi exiled a group of captured individuals to an unexplored region of space on a galleon. These captives, known as the Exiles, were a collection of Dark Jedi under the leadership of powerful Force-sensitives such as Remulus Dreypa, Ajunta Pall, Karness Muur, XoXaan, and Sorzus Syn. With Syn's guidance, the Exiles did not wander aimlessly; after years of gathering rumors and information from refugees, Syn eventually navigated the Dark Jedi to the planet Korriban. The twelve surviving Exiles disembarked in the Valley of Sleeping Kings, where they were met by the indigenous Sith people.
By dominating the Sith people after arriving on Korriban, the banished Jedi Knights established a sanctuary on Korriban to practice the dark side of the Force, all while scheming and awaiting their opportunity to avenge themselves against the Jedi. The Sith eventually yielded to the Dark Jedi exiles, leading to interbreeding between the two groups and laying the foundation for the Sith Empire.
Sorzus Syn later documented this event in her chronicle, which Darth Sidious later compiled into his Book of Sith. Syn viewed the Exiles' arrival as being secured by their victory over the Sith people. A written record of the Arrival on Korriban was also preserved in scripture as a memento of the re-established Sith Empire.
The Arrival on Korriban was first shown in flashbacks in the opening issue of the Tales of the Jedi comic series' Golden Age of the Sith story arc, released by Dark Horse Comics on July 31, 1996, and written by Kevin J. Anderson with illustrations by Dario Carrasco, Jr. The event received its name in the 2011 video game Star Wars: The Old Republic.
