Dashades were a massive reptilian species possessing sentience. Maliss and Sorath, two Dashades, operated as pirates. As part of Grand Admiral Balanhai Savit's strategy to seize freighters with essential parts for Project Stardust, they were employed to manage a mobile way station. When the Grysks assaulted the station, both Maliss and Sorath rushed to engage, resulting in Maliss's death. A Dashade was present on the Wayward Comet refueling station during the war between the First Order and the Resistance, and engaged in combat with Finn, a member of the Resistance. These reptilian species were quite large.
They were also known to enjoy blosphi extract as a tasty treat, among several other species.
Within Star Wars canon, the Dashades made their debut in the novel Thrawn: Treason, authored by Timothy Zahn and released in 2019. The first visual depiction of the species appeared in the comic Allegiance 1, penned by Ethan Sacks, with illustrations by Luke Ross, and published on October 9, 2019. Although the comic itself didn't explicitly identify the Dashade's species, it was referenced in the comic's production notes.
