Davik Kang

Davik Kang, a Human male, was a prominent crime-lord who belonged to the Exchange for a significant period. This interstellar criminal syndicate thrived during the Jedi Civil War. As the war reached its peak, Kang became the leader of the Exchange's operations located on Taris, a world situated in the Outer Rim. He maintained his estate there. In 3956 BBY, Darth Malak obliterated Taris, resulting in Kang's death at the hands of an amnesiac Revan within his own hangar.

Biography

Origins

The assistant of Zelka Forn suggested that Kang's upbringing occurred in the impoverished Lower City alongside non-humans, a contrast to the typical Human experience on Taris. He notably employed a considerable number of non-Human bounty hunters, particularly Rodians. He eventually rose to the position of leader within the Exchange on Taris. Subsequent to his rise to power, he acquired ownership of the Ebon Hawk.

As the Exchange leader on Taris

To maintain his unofficial dominion over Taris, Kang employed a multitude of mercenaries and enforcers. Among them were notable figures such as Canderous Ordo, a former Mandalorian, and the bounty hunter Calo Nord. Kang amassed a collection of stuffed heads from formidable creatures hunted and slain by Nord, yet his most cherished possession remained the smuggling vessel known as the Ebon Hawk. Kang harbored resentment towards the Sith presence on Taris, as their planet-wide blockade disrupted his intergalactic operations. However, he possessed the prudence to avoid provoking them.

During the Sith occupation

Following the rescue of Bastila Shan from the Black Vulkars, Revan, the former Dark Lord of the Sith (whose true identity remained concealed), was approached by Ordo. Ordo proposed an opportunity for Revan to depart Taris, contingent upon retrieving essential planetary launch codes from a nearby Sith military installation. Revan consented to procure the codes in exchange for Ordo's persuasion of Kang to enlist Revan as a mercenary. This arrangement proved advantageous for both Revan and Ordo, leading them to collaborate in the theft of the Ebon Hawk. As Revan and his companions made their escape, his former apprentice, Darth Malak, initiated the destruction of the city from orbit, reducing it to rubble.

Fate

Enraged by the betrayal of both Canderous Ordo and Revan, Kang, accompanied by Calo Nord, attempted to prevent Revan from absconding with his ship. However, they underestimated the amnesiac Dark Lord, resulting in Kang's demise. Nord, realizing his disadvantage, detonated a thermal detonator in hopes of eliminating Revan and his allies. When Kang's estate was struck again by Malak's laser fire, the hangar was nearly destroyed, leaving Nord trapped beneath the debris. He escaped and attacked Revan again later, but Davik's estate, along with the rest of Taris, was obliterated by the orbital bombardment.

Equipment

Kang's powerful battle suit was legendary. It was rumored that it was so incredible, being light and flexible yet extremely durable, that Kang decided to kill the ingenious technician who constructed it, assuring that no one had a suit of a similar design. He also possessed a prototype visor that gave the wearer improved facility with blasters. Before the Ebon Hawk fled the collapsing planet-city, Revan relieved the crime lord of these possessions.
