Dayja Collerand served as a major within the Imperial Security Bureau of the Galactic Empire, identifying as male. To assist Grand Admiral Balanhai Savit, Collerand operated secretly under the name "Mole" in the town of Tiquwe located on Aloxor, his goal being to gather intelligence on pirate organizations. While engaged in their mission to Aloxor, he crossed paths with Lieutenant Eli Vanto, Assistant Director Brierly Ronan, and the pair of death troopers known as Pik and Waffle. These individuals had been taken prisoner by lawbreakers while investigating a scheme concerning pilfered parts destined for Project Stardust. Ultimately, Collerand liberated them from their captors and provided aid in their assignment. Not long after, during a skirmish against the Third Fleet, he was instrumental in assisting Grand Admiral Thrawn in the apprehension of Balanhai Savit, a treasonous Grand Admiral who had been misappropriating the Stardust components.
