The "Intergalactic," a nickname for the DC0052 speeder, represented an airspeeder model employed by the Jedi Order near the conclusion of the Galactic Republic era. This vehicle, crafted by Daystar Craft, measured two meters in length and boasted a maximum velocity of eight hundred kilometers per hour, capable of journeys extending beyond two thousand kilometers without refueling. The craft's maintenance costs were low, and it incorporated a unique "drop-deployment" system, enabling Jedi to rapidly engage in combat while the DC0052 executed an autopilot-controlled landing. The Jedi High Council possessed a maintained collection of sixteen such vehicles.
This DC0052 speeder was an economical, short-distance vehicle, able to traverse distances greater than two thousand kilometers without stopping. Its operational ceiling reached a mid-altitude of one hundred seventy kilometers, and its peak speed was eight hundred kilometers per hour. Its aerodynamic design facilitated rapid movement through urban landscapes, propelled by two Sono-class thrust pods.
The DC0052 also utilized four Daystar Craft repulsorlift generators, powered by a robust power supply, to further enhance its mobility. A distinctive feature of the DC0052 was its "drop-deployment" panel. This allowed a Jedi, after activating the craft's autopilot for landing, to quickly disembark from beneath the vehicle and enter a situation without delay. The DC0052, shaped like a flying wing, included a compact, single-occupant cockpit located at its center.

The cost-effective DC0052 speeder, produced by Daystar Craft, was exclusively used by the Jedi Order during the decline of the Galactic Republic. It served as a personal transport for moving Jedi Knights between locations. It superseded the earlier DC0040 speeder, which Daystar's marketing had promoted as "Intergalactic." Although the DC0052 was never officially designated "Intergalactic," the name became associated with it later on. DC0052s were most commonly seen on Coruscant at this time, but they also operated on other worlds.
The Jedi High Council maintained a fleet of sixteen DC0052 speeders, using them to transport themselves around the galactic capital. This allowed the Council to avoid using public transportation or overburdening the already busy Delta-7 Aethersprite-class light interceptors and Eta-2 Actis-class interceptors. The DC0052's operational range allowed the Jedi to reach many locations on the planet without needing to enter orbit. Some of these vehicles displayed the emblem of the Open Circle Fleet. Jedi Padawan Ahsoka Tano utilized these speeders on several occasions on Coruscant around 21 BBY. Tano once used one of these transports to locate her Master, Anakin Skywalker, and Senator Padmé Amidala of Naboo, who were at a landing pad on the ecumenopolis where Amidala was preparing to depart aboard her J-type diplomatic barge to deliver information to them. Tano also employed a DC0052 speeder to travel from the Jedi Temple to meet Amidala at a landing pad as the Senator was about to depart Coruscant for another mission. Similarly Tano also used one of these speeders to travel to a republic prison to speak with Letta Turmond after being requested by her, and when Tano was accused of murdering Turmond she attempt to return to the speeder to escape from the prison, but it was destroyed by a nearby turret. In 19 BBY, Skywalker used one of the vehicles to travel from the Jedi Temple to the Republic Executive Building, where the attempted arrest of Supreme Chancellor Palpatine was unfolding. Later that year, after the Declaration of a New Order, Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi used one of the vehicles to reach Amidala's apartment, where he met with the Senator.
The DC0052 speeder initially appeared in 2005 within George Lucas's film, Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith, though it remained unnamed in the movie. Its name and details were later provided through the StarWars.com Hyperspace feature, "What's The Story?." Nathan Butler (Equals and Opposites) and "The Dark Moose" (Unstable Terrain Artillery Transport in the Databank) authored the vehicle's background and specifications. The name was already present in the submission sheet; "The Dark Moose" contributed the majority of the information, although his suggested nickname for the vehicle, "Deuce," was not included in the final version. The vehicle received an entry in 2008's The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia, which utilized information from the speeder's Databank entry. In 2010, more than five years after its original creation, the DC0052 speeder was showcased in the third season of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series, specifically in the episodes "Sphere of Influence" and "Assassin."
