Defense of Yavin medal

The initial significant campaign medal distributed by the Alliance Military was the Defense of Yavin medal. This particular medal was bestowed upon every single army and naval member who participated in the Battle of Yavin. The medal itself featured a bronze-colored circular shape, adorned with slanted copper and [gold] (/article/gold) lines that represented the planet Yavin Prime; it was suspended from an elongated, narrowing gold ribbon displaying red and brown lines. A horizontal gold bar, featuring red and brown stripes at each end, served as the rack ribbon for this medal. It was frequently displayed in conjunction with the Death Star medal.
