Desolation Alley, situated on the moon Oovo IV, functioned as a high-security detention facility under the authority of the Galactic Republic. Among its more well-known inmates were individuals such as Aurra Sing, Fud Sang, and Bendix Fust. In the waning years of the Republic, Fenn Booda held the position of prison warden. Besides the presence of security personnel and corrections officers, RC-AD Riot Control/Assault Droids were deployed to patrol the facility. Ugnaughts were employed as engineers within the prison, typically responsible for upkeep, maintenance, and repairs, with a particular focus on the essential deflector shield generators.
It was at this location that Jango Fett, in the course of evading capture after a failed bounty mission, pilfered his notorious prototype Firespray-31-class patrol and attack craft, the Slave I.
Around 32 BBY, the prison gained notoriety as a venue for podracing. It was subsequently obliterated by the Yuuzhan Vong military during the Yuuzhan Vong War.
