The Diamond-class cruiser, also known by the names Commerce Guild cruiser and Commerce Guild Starship, represented a class of cruiser utilized by the Commerce Guild. A total of 41 of these vessels participated in the First Battle of Geonosis, marking the opening engagement of the Clone Wars.
This Diamond-class cruiser, alternatively called the Commerce Guild Starship, belonged to a class of cruiser employed by the Commerce Guild. Its design featured a semi-disk shape, enabling it to dock in a vertical orientation on the surface of a planet.
The Diamond-class cruiser served in a defensive capacity, exemplified by its deployment to safeguard Commerce Guild assets along the Perlemian Trade Route.

Upon the Commerce Guild's alignment with the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Diamond-class cruisers were integrated into the Confederacy navy as relatively small capital ship units. During the First Battle of Geonosis, the event that triggered the Clone Wars, forty-one Diamond-class cruisers were stationed on the planet's surface, but five of those vessels failed to escape the conflict. Throughout the Clone Wars, Diamond-class cruisers, alongside Recusant-class destroyers, and supported by Commerce Guild corvettes as well as Commerce Guild bombers, were used to defend planets of interest to the Commerce Guild located off the Perlemian Trade Route, including Castell, Escarte, Felucia, Mooga, and Minntooine.
The Diamond-class cruiser made its debut appearance in the 2002 Star Wars saga film, Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones. Later, the 2016 canon reference book Star Wars: Complete Locations identified it as the Commerce Guild Starship, while the 2019 canon source Rise of the Separatists designated it as the Diamond-class cruiser.
