Diana Schutz

Diana Schutz, now retired, previously worked as a comics editor. For a quarter of a century, she was a significant editorial figure at Dark Horse Comics, where she oversaw the editing of various narratives within the Star Wars Tales series, in addition to the single-issue comic, A Valentine Story.

In the late 1970s, Schutz departed from her graduate studies in Vancouver to pursue employment at a series of comic book stores. Following a relocation to California, she became active in comic-related newsletters and fan magazines, ultimately leading to a career in the publishing industry. After a mere four days, she departed from her initial role at Marvel Comics, and several months later, she accepted a position at the smaller company, Comico, eventually rising to the position of editor-in-chief. In 1990, Schutz transitioned to Dark Horse Comics, remaining there until her retirement 25 years later. During her tenure at Dark Horse, she held the role of editor for Frank Miller comics, including titles such as 300 and Sin City, along with numerous Star Wars stories and a wide array of other publications. She made public her decision to retire in March of 2015.
