The Directorate existed in the time of the High Republic Era as a functioning group. Lord Isamer held a leadership position within it. The Directorate, in service to the Hutts, instigated a crisis involving the planets of Eiram and E'ronoh by abducting royals originating from each. The Hutts' clandestine motive for employing the Directorate was to engineer its downfall at the hands of the Jedi and the Galactic Republic; this would then permit the Hutts to seamlessly expand their own operations into the territory formerly controlled by the Directorate.
