Eiram

title: Eiram

Existing within the Eiram system, Eiram was a terrestrial planet that orbited alongside its planetary twin, E'ronoh. Its civilization flourished across its extensive oceans, with its society deeply rooted in maritime traditions.

History

A long-standing rivalry existed between Eiram and its sister planet, E'ronoh. These two celestial bodies were in constant competition for dominance over their shared system, a strategic location due to its position as a hyperspace junction. This competition escalated into numerous wars. In the year 382 BBY, Eiram was under the joint rule of Queen Adrialla and Queen-Consort Odelia. The ongoing conflict had reached its fifth year, intensified by the accidental death of Prince Niko A'lbaran in Eiram's waters. As resources dwindled, Queen Adrialla struck a bargain with The Mother of the Path of the Open Hand. Eiram agreed to supply poison, derived from a Scorpion species indigenous to the planet, in exchange for vital supplies. In an attempt to forge peace, Princess Xiri A'lbaran of E'ronoh and Prince Phan-tu Zenn of Eiram entered into a marriage alliance, and a genuine affection blossomed between them. Initially, the poison was believed to have been relinquished to the Galactic Republic and the Jedi Order. However, A'lbaran and a hesitant Zenn secretly retained a portion as a safeguard against future threats. Following the capture of Path operative Axel Greylark, they ultimately resolved to destroy the remaining poison.

The active warfare transitioned into a tense cold war. Later in its history, Eiram was governed by the reigning queen Dima and her queen consort, Thandeka. Thandeka's abduction by the Directorate, alongside Monarch Cassel of E'ronoh, triggered the Eiram–E'ronoh crisis. As the Jedi's investigation progressed, Eiram and E'ronoh jointly offered a ransom to the Directorate while independently probing the circumstances of the abductions. With the resolution of the crisis, relations between Eiram and E'ronoh experienced a swift improvement, and they adopted a friendlier stance towards the Republic, permitting the construction of the Starlight Beacon within their territory.

In 230 BBY, a massive cyclone arose on the planet, engulfing almost an entire hemisphere. The storm's repercussions severely damaged the desalination facilities, which constituted the sole source of fresh water for the population. As a response, the Republic dispatched Starlight Beacon into orbit to provide essential supplies and facilitate repairs. A celebratory event was planned shortly before the repairs were completed. Starlight was subsequently destroyed while still positioned above Eiram.

Culture

The inhabitants of Eiram possessed a profound sense of solidarity, demonstrating a strong commitment to mutual support, even during times of extreme adversity.
