In the year 9 ABY, a male alien of the insectoid species, known as "Doctor Mandible," frequented Chalmun's Spaceport Cantina located on Tatooine. His game of sabacc with Peli Motto was disrupted when Din Djarin, a bounty hunter searching for fellow Mandalorian survivors, entered the establishment. Eavesdropping on their exchange, Doctor Mandible offered information about a contact with knowledge of a covert's location. He requested 500 credits from Djarin to facilitate a call, which Djarin provided. Despite this, Motto emerged victorious in their game, leaving Mandible the loser. True to his word, Doctor Mandible then provided Djarin with the promised information.
Doctor Mandible, a regular patron of the cantina within Chalmun's Spaceport Cantina in Mos Eisley, was present when Din Djarin, the Mandalorian bounty hunter, arrived seeking employment opportunities.

Later, while engaged in a sabacc match against Peli Motto, Doctor Mandible found himself in the same cantina when Djarin re-entered, still in pursuit of Mandalorian survivors. Overhearing Djarin's conversation with Motto, Mandible offered details regarding a contact who could potentially aid the Mandalorian in his search. Motto, acting as translator, informed Djarin that Mandible would share the information if Djarin would cover the cost of his sabacc bet. Djarin consented and provided Mandible with 500 credits, with Motto's assurance that the insectoid was experiencing a "hot streak." However, Motto quickly won the game, thereby ending Doctor Mandible's winning streak. Fulfilling his end of the bargain, Mandible then communicated the information about the individual who could connect him with the Mandalorians to Motto, who then translated the alien's words for Djarin.
Pelli Motto described Doctor Mandible as a skilled sabacc player known for his winning streaks. While unable to speak Galactic Basic Standard, he possessed the ability to comprehend the language when spoken by others. He was characterized by orange eyes, brown skin, and prominent mandibles. He also possessed multiple limbs.
