In approximately 6 BBY, Jyn Erso marked Bell as the primary objective of her assassinate mission on the world of Horuz. Nevertheless, his ultimate demise was not brought about by Erso's direct actions, but rather by a grenade triggered within a booby trap that had been pre-positioned by the Partisans to account for the possibility of Erso's mission failing, resulting in him being killed.
