Rodian Salvager's Cartel
The Rodian Salvager's Cartel, operating during the Imperial Era, was a criminal syndicate comprised of Rodian scavengers on Raxus Prime. Under the leadership of Drexl Roosh, they established a significant salvage operation on the debris-strewn world, utilizing his subordinates to generate scrap metal and other commodities for off-world sale. These scavengers meticulously dismantled any discarded materials found on the planet, seeking valuable metal fragments or functional mechanical components. Drexl displayed minimal concern for the well-being of his gang members, and even less for those who dared to interfere with his illicit activities.
History
The Rodian Salvage Cartel established its main salvage hub on Raxus Prime, gaining control over numerous areas of the planet's surface. At one stage, they faced attacks from the deranged Jedi Master Kazdan Paratus's droid forces, consisting of Scrap Guardians, colossal junk behemoths, and Scrap Scavengers. Initially suffering substantial losses, the cartel regrouped and deployed their Heavy Defenders and Rodian Rippers to counter the droid army.
When Galen Marek arrived on the planet, Heavy Defenders and Rodian Rippers were dispatched via skiffs to intercept him. Marek eliminated them, along with the scavengers present inside the wrecked hyperdrive core. Scavengers were also engaged in combat with Paratus's droid army near a downed blockade runner, until Marek intervened, defeating both sides. Subsequently, Marek advanced to the scavenger's base, where he disabled its shield generator and battled his way through them into the junk ravine, entering the domain of his target, Kazdan Paratus, whom he ultimately killed.
Paratus's demise provided the scavengers with a brief reprieve, but the Galactic Empire soon arrived on the planet to seize control. Conflict ensued between the Empire and the cartel for control of the world, until Galen Marek reappeared and defeated both factions, annihilating the criminal scavengers and killing Roosh.
Variants
- Rodian Heavy Defenders were Rodians of larger stature, armed with Z0-16 rotary cannons, which they used against any obstacle encountered during their salvage operations on Raxus Prime.
- Rodian Rippers, generally leaner than the Heavy Defenders, carried stun gloves equipped with knives along the fingers. These gloves also incorporated an energy pad on the palms, enabling them to draw debris towards themselves or, if necessary, launch it as a projectile at potential adversaries.
